When it comes to interior design, Zhou Wei is a name that resonates with innovation and uniqueness. The designer's latest project, The Peninsula Duplex Penthouse, is no exception. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant hues of coastal cities, Wei has created a space that is both luxurious and artistic, a testament to the designer's ability to redefine elegance.
The design of the penthouse is a bold departure from traditional luxury. Instead of the usual pink hues associated with femininity, Wei has opted for colors such as ocean blue, sand white, and light grey, juxtaposed against bright yellow. This unique color palette not only sets the penthouse apart from other luxury residences but also offers a fresh interpretation of feminine elegance.
One of the standout features of the penthouse is its spacious, extra-high living room. Furnished with a set of sofas and an exquisite chair complemented by a sculptural end table, the room exudes a modern cultural atmosphere. Adding to the ambiance are art decorations inspired by the changeable clouds and rains over the sea, earthen vases from the Aegean sea, and a ceramic sculpture titled 'See The Sea' created by artist Shen Zhoulai.
The designer's attention to detail extends to the family room, where coins collected from around the world, a cabinet painted with western buildings and arts, and various ceramic sculptures are displayed. These elements not only showcase the aesthetic taste of the hostess but also add an artistic touch to the space.
Despite the challenges of practicing beyond past experience and creating an 'anti-luxury' space, Zhou Wei has managed to design a top-class residence that is both distinctive and imaginative. The success of the project is evident in its recognition at the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, where it was awarded the Golden A' Design Award.
In conclusion, The Peninsula Duplex Penthouse is a testament to Zhou Wei's innovative design skills and unique vision. It is a space that not only redefines luxury living but also serves as an inspiration for future designers in the field.
